Rice Paper Shrimp Dim Sum
Rice Paper Shrimp Dim Sum |
Rice paper shrimp dim sum is
a light and tasty dish, wrapping shrimp in see-through rice paper. Steamed to
let the flavors blend, it's a healthy, gluten-free choice perfect for
appetizers or as part of a larger meal.
Ingredients
- 10 medium shrimp
- Some chives
- 1t oyster sauce
- 1t sesame oil
- 1t minced garlic
- A bit pepper
- 1T potato starch
Slice some chives.
Flatten the shrimp with the
flat side of a knife and chop finely.
Place the minced shrimp, 1
teaspoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon of garlic, 1
teaspoon of sugar, a little pepper, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon
of corn starch in a bowl. Mix well.
Soak a small-sized rice
paper (16cm long) in cold water. Put 1 tablespoon of dim sum filling on it.
Fold in half. Fold one side slightly, and do the same on the other side. Press
the ends together to seal.
If this method is difficult,
try making it this way. Fold one side, and the other side as well. Fold the
opposite side as well.
Place parchment paper under the rice paper dim sums. Put the dim sum in boiling water. Cover with a lid and cook on high heat for about 5 minutes.
Making dipping sauce: Put 1
tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of water, 1
teaspoon of honey, and a little gochugaru (red pepper flakes) in a bowl.
After 5 minutes, chewy and
savory rice paper shrimp dim sum is done! Dip in soy sauce and enjoy!
Notes
- Dipping in cold water makes it less likely to tear and easier to wrap.
