Crispy and Delicious Chicken Sliders

Crispy Chicken Sliders

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a chicken slider recipe. I followed my son’s method, and they turned out absolutely delicious! These bite-sized treats are perfect to enjoy—so be sure to try them!

Ingredients

For the Sliders

  • 1 bag of Hawaiian rolls (or any soft bread)
  • 6 pieces of chicken tenderloin
  • 200g cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 eggs
  • Some breadcrumbs & flour
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

For the Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • ½ tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons water

 For the Cabbage Salad

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Korean chili powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

 Instructions

Step 1. Make the Cabbage Salad

Thinly slice the cabbage and place it in a bowl. To make the cabbage salad, combine 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of Korean chili powder (optional), 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds, and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic in a bowl. Mix well.

Step 2. Make the Sauce

Combine 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 2 tablespoons of honey or corn syrup, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, ½ tablespoon of gochujang (Korean chili paste), 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, a pinch of black pepper, and 2 tablespoons of water in a bowl. Mix well. Pour into a pan and heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Once it starts bubbling, let it simmer for 30 seconds, then turn off the heat and let it cool.

Step 3. Fry the Chicken

Lightly pound the chicken tenderloin to make it tender, then season with salt and pepper. Coat the chicken in this order: flour → beaten egg → breadcrumbs. Heat the oil over medium heat and fry until golden brown and crispy. Place on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.

Step 4. Toast the Buns

Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half. Toast them in a pan without oil until they are lightly crisp and golden. This makes them slightly crunchy while staying soft inside!

Step 5. Assemble the Sliders

Place a layer of cabbage salad on the bottom bun. Add sliced tomatoes (pickles are a great addition too!). Place the crispy chicken on top. Drizzle with the prepared sauce. Cover with the top bun—and it's ready to serve! 😊
