Do you always have to salt cucumbers first? Today, we’re making a no-salt cucumber salad that keeps its natural crunch and is much simpler to prepare. It’s light, refreshing, and perfect when you want something quick and easy.

Ingredients

  • 6 mini cucumbers
  • 1/2 onion

Seasoning

  • 2 tbsp gochugaru
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp maesil syrup (plum extract)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

1. Cut the cucumbers in half and remove the seeds. Slice them slightly thick.

2. Slice the onion to a similar size.

3. Add all the seasoning ingredients.

4. Mix everything lightly.

Tips

  • No need to salt — it keeps the cucumbers crisp
  • Don’t slice too thin for better texture
