Rice Paper Dumplings

Crunchy, savory, and delicious dumplings

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! While thinking of simple and easy recipes to make, I thought this dish was perfect! It’s rice paper dumplings. This dish actually became quite popular on social media and I also wanted to try making it. I ate it and it was so crunchy, savory, and delicious! The ingredients are common and the recipe is very simple to follow. Hope you like this recipe!

Ingredients: 7oz cabbage, 1/3 carrots, 7oz pork, half an onions, a handful of chives, 7oz boiled glass noodles, 1 and 1/2T soy sauce, 1T sugar, 3 pinches pepper, 1T sesame oil, 3 cloves of garlic, rice papers

Dipping sauce: 1T soy sauce, 1T water, 1/2T vinegar, 1/2T sugar, a bit of red pepper powder (optional)

How to make it

Step 1: Preparing ingredients

Slice the cabbage, half an onion, and carrots  thinly. 

 Add 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix it well. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.


Slice a handful of chives into 1-inch sizes. Chop the boiled glass noodles. Slice the pork thinly. Shred it again.

          



Step 2: Dipping Sauce

Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of water, half a tablespoon of vinegar, half a tablespoon of sugar, and two pinches of chili powder. After 10 minutes, squeeze the water out of the pickled vegetables. 


Step 3: Stir-frying the ingredients

Add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. to the preheated pan. Add 1T minced garlic. Put the sliced pork. Add 1 tablespoon of cooking wine. Add the glass noodles. Add 1 and a half tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and a bit of pepper. Add the vegetables. Stir-fry it well. Add chives and stir-fry for about 30 more seconds. Finally, turn off the heat and add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Mix it well.





Step 4: Making rice paper dumplings

Dip the rice paper in warm water. Place 2 tablespoons of the dumpling filling on the rice paper. Fold the rice paper. Fold the sides. Roll it well again.




Step 5: Stir-frying

Add 2 tablespoons oil to preheated pan. Put one at a time. Grill until golden brown on medium heat. Turn the dumpling over when it's well cooked. Crispy and light rice paper dumplings are done.

Notes

  • Cooking the ingredients will shorten the grilling time for later.
  • If you use just one piece of rice paper, it can be easily broken when you cook, wrapping it with 2 rice papers, will prevent it from breaking and will look good.
  • Place them in a pan and keep distance from each other to prevent them from sticking together.
