No rice kimbap, Cabbage kimbap

Annyeonghaseyo! Hello K Friends! I hope all of you are doing very well! When you visit Korea, you'll find many kimbap stores with a variety of kimbap options. Today, I'll show you kimbap made with cabbage instead of rice. It’s said that eating this kimbap helps you lose weight. Hope you enjoy this recipe!

Cabbage Kimbap

Ingredients

  • 3 sheets of seaweed
  • 5 oz (140g) cabbage
  • 4 oz (120g) of bacon
  • 6 eggs
  • some cabbage
  • some lettuces
  • 1/2 carrot
  • 1/2 cucumber

Instructions

1. Slice the carrot and cucumber thinly and julienne it again.

2. Thinly slice the cabbage. Wash it once and remove excess water.

3. Put the sliced cabbage in a bowl and add 6 eggs, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and a bit of pepper. Mix well.

4. Put a bit of oil in a preheated pan. Place a suitable amount of cabbage and egg mixture in the pan. Cook each side for about 2 minutes over low heat.

5. 2 minutes later, when the bottom is cooked, flip it over with a spatula.

6. 2 minutes later, when it's fully cooked, put it on a plate to cool.

7. Put a bit of oil in the pan. Add the sliced carrot and add a pinch of salt. Stir-fry lightly.

8. Cut the bacon into small pieces. Put the chopped bacon in the pan and stir-fry it until fully cooked. Put a kitchen towel on a plate and pour the bacon on top so that it absorbs the excess oil.

9. Instead of rice, put the cabbage and egg pancake on the seaweed paper. Add a few pieces of lettuce, some stir-fried bacon, sliced carrot, and sliced cucumber. Roll tightly, pressing the ingredients inside so that they won't come out when you cut the gimbap.

10. Apply the end of the seaweed with water or rice and seal it. Press firmly to make sure the ingredients stick together.

11. Put some delicious sesame oil on top of the gimbap. Slice it into bite-sized pieces.

Look at this! The color is so beautiful! Put it on a plate. Hope you give it a try! I’ll see you next week. Thank you! Bye bye!
