Red Bean Rice, Patbap
Eating red bean rice on
birthdays is believed to remove evil spirits. Interestingly, in the same
country, there are regions where people eat red bean rice on birthdays and
regions where they do not. It's often eaten on holidays or special occasions and is loved for its delicious taste and nutritional benefits.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup red beans
- 2 1/2 cups glutinous rice
Instructions
First, rinse ½ cup of the
red beans once and soak them in water for about 10 hours. After soaking for 10
hours, boil the beans in water for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove
the beans from the water and drain them.
Wash 2 1/2 cups of glutinous
rice about three times. Drain the rice well. If you are using 2 1/2 cups of
glutinous rice, add the same amount of water (2 ½ cups of water). Add 1 cup of
the boiled red beans and about 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Place everything in a
pressure rice cooker and select the setting for cooking white rice. Start
cooking button.
After 25 minutes, once cooked, stir with a spatula to prevent the rice grains from clumping together. Enjoy very nutritious and delicious red bean rice!
