Ingredients

  • 14oz (400g) pork belly
  • 1 onion
  • 2 green onions (optional)
  • 3 pinches salt
  • A bit pepper
  • 1T cooking wine

 Instructions

Cut the pork belly into appropriate sizes and make small diagonal cuts for better cooking and tenderness.

Season the pork with 3 pinches of salt, a bit of pepper, and 1 tablespoon of cooking wine. Mix well and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, cut half an onion into appropriate sizes and place in a microwave-safe dish. Put the seasoned pork on top of the onion, then slice the remaining half onion and place it on top of the meat. Optionally, slice 2 green onions and place them on the meat.

Cover with a microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap with a few holes poked in it. Microwave for 10 minutes. If the meat is thick, cook for an additional 2 minutes.

After 10 minutes, the pork will be perfectly tender and delicious. Slice the pork thinly. Simple yet delicious suyuk is done!

To enjoy, place a piece of meat on a lettuce leaf, add a bit of ssamjang (Korean dipping sauce), wrap it up, and enjoy.
