Rice Paper Apple Pie

Who knew you could make crispy apple pie using rice paper instead of traditional dough? This recipe is super easy, light, and delicious perfect for when you’re craving apple pie but want a quick and unique twist! No need for rolling pastry or waiting for dough to chill—just wrap, fry, and enjoy that crunchy, caramelized goodness! 

Ingredients

  • 4 sheets of rice paper
  • 1 large apple
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • A little bit of butter
  • ½ tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

Step1: Making the Apple Filling

First, peel the apple and cut it into small pieces. Heat a pan and add ½ tablespoon of oil along with a little butter. Then, add the chopped apples, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and a pinch of salt, and stir-fry over medium-high heat to evaporate the excess moisture.





Step 2: Assembling the Apple Pie

Prepare a bowl of cold water and dip a square piece of rice paper, then shake off any excess water. Place about 2 tablespoons of the cooled apple filling on the rice paper. Fold in one side, then the opposite side. Flip it over and fold in the remaining two sides.





Step 3: Pan-Frying

Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add ½ tablespoon of cooking oil. Place the apple pies in the pan and cook until golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through. These are delicious on their own, but for an extra touch of sweetness, drizzle some caramel sauce or honey over the top.
