Easy Stir-Fried Udon
Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a super simple and delicious stir-fried udon recipe that’s perfect for busy days—or those times when you don’t feel like cooking much.
Believe it or not, I made
this in just 10 minutes, using only ingredients I already had in the fridge. No
fancy techniques, just quick and flavorful cooking. Hope you enjoy!
Ingredients (Serves 1)
- 1 pack udon noodles
- 3.5 oz (100g) thinly sliced pork shoulder
- ½ small onion
- 100g cabbage
- ⅙ carrot
- 1–2 scallions (or thin green onions)
Sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cooking wine
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp honey or sugar
- 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) (optional)
- A pinch of black pepper
Instructions
Step 1: Making the sauce
In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp each of soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirim, and sugar. Add 1 tbsp minced garlic, a pinch of black pepper, and 1/2 tbsp gochugaru if you like it spicy. Stir well.
Step 2: Prep the vegetables
and meat
Slice onion and carrot, chop
scallions, and cut cabbage into large pieces. Cut pork (or other protein) into
bite-sized pieces.
Step 3: Stir-frying
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan
over medium heat. Add 1tbsp chopped scallions and 1 tsp garlic. Stir until
fragrant. Add the pork and stir-fry on high heat until it starts to change
color. Add vegetables Toss in all the prepped vegetables and stir-fry for 1–2
minutes.
Step 4: Boil the noodles
While stir-frying, boil your udon noodles for 1–2 minutes to loosen them. Drain well. Combine everything: Add the noodles to the pan, pour in the sauce, and stir-fry everything together over high heat for 1–2 more minutes until the sauce evenly coats everything.
Serve
and enjoy!
